About Jobie

Growing up in Corning, Ohio, I was involved in local history and community services in my youth. I was eventually appointed as President of Village Council while I attended Ohio University. Upon graduating, I enlisted in the US Army and eventually commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division. After leading combat missions in Iraq, I returned home and joined US Army Special Forces, also referred to as Green Berets. After returning from a combat rotation in Afghanistan, I was appointed Commander of B Company, 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group with the Ohio National Guard. After completing my Masters program in Military History with Norwich University, I left the military. Now, I am started my research for a book about my hometown in the late nineteenth-century.  A recent convert, I spend my free time dedicated growing my faith in the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
